I'm on vacation in Colorado, and guess what. NO INTERNET! i get a small, very weak, signal, that is unsecured, every once in awhile, but MAN! life without internet is brutal.
Down to brass tacks. I've learned much about flixel, and finished a small tutorial platform game. I've got a book on actionscript3 that i'll try and read soon, and then go back and do the tutorial again, and make something worth posting. flixel is winning my heart and it seems like it has everything i need to actually make some progress with Zombie aTACOlypse. Here's to hoping *crosses tacos*

As with most things, ive lost interest in the current structure of the site. For one i do not know what i was thinking trying to make the site community oriented. The new structure will be more blog oriented, and less community/user/news oriented. I will most likely try and use api's to integrate facebook and twitter n such for posting. no promises though. We'll see what happens. Wish me luck.

I've been putting this widget off for some time. It isnt very complex and i actually reduced the complexity tenfold as i got back into working on it.
This is an MMF2 Widget that makes making custom life bars a sinch.
Defaulted to a zelda style heart life bar.
Fully customizable. Supports any number of fractions of lives, any size life container, any number of containers per row, and any number of total containers.
Easily Create a Mario 64 style Health Bar, or Doom-esque Health. Could be easily tweaked to use animations instead of frames for animated health bars.
Download it here

I made this waay back when i first started getting into programming and gaming.
I started out using microsoft QuickBasic 4.5 and still use it, although rarely, to this day.
Just thought id upload it. Picture Puzzler

guys over at the giant bombcast answer a question about tacos vs sandwiches. decide sandwiches are more versatile and therefore better. my heart becomes sad.
also decide that tacos are still evolving so theres room to grow.
if you dont already, check out www.giantbomb.com and listen to their podcast. is very good.

It came up that it would be cool if it was possible to get news from other sites' rss feeds. So i started a php script that would do just that.
I call it "Feed Eater". Mmmm
What it does is you let it know what feeds you want to stream news from (has to be done manually within the script atm) and some information about those feeds like the name of the site its from and the index url of that site.
After that it goes through all the xml of those feeds and parses for "item" xml tags. When it finds one it gets the "title", "link"/"guid", and "pubDate" from that "item" and stores it into an array and then sorts that array descending by date.
You give it a number of how many previous days of news you want it to display, and it groups all the news for each day and displays them. You can see it implemented over to the left in our side bar and on Game Builder's website, for whom i started writing the script for.
It's a WIP but its pretty straight forward. Hope to have a download up soon on the downloads page.
Heres the Project Page in the mean time
